PERSEVERE

founder Maria gina chellali gelosini was twelve years old when the landmark resolution UNSCR 1325 (YEAR 2000) was adopted. Germany's military subsequently allowed women to join their armed forces. five years later, at age 17, she signed up to serve the country she was born in. she was the first woman in her rank and profession and served for over 10 years.

born and raised in germany for most of her life and naturalized from french to german citizen when she was a child she always considered herself german growing up. when she returned from combat in afghanistan however she found herself persecuted and deprived of her most basic human rights.

a handfull of high ranking german officers opposed her work to "implement women into the peacekeeping process" in afghanistan. she was denied her reintegration and never received access to her wounded veterans benefits.

in 2017 revelations of leaked afghanistan-mission reports came to light exposing the federal republic of germany's role in afghanistan and how it funded afghan nationals' ptsd treatment - while neglecting their own returning soldiers and veterans.

the european court of justice then ruled that germany cannot bury afghanistan war reports written for the parliament and the public.

in desperate efforts the federal republic of germany then changed its constitutional laws and established a gag order to prevent further unwanted reporting.

Her human rights case was submitted to the highest courts, but she was sanctioned and the case buried instead. her renounciation of german citizenship followed in 2019.
